WSIS Team welcomes you to 2021 and we look forward to working with you on the WSIS process implementation and follow up, and towards the WSIS Forum 2021 and its many exciting features. The beginning of the year is always exciting, and this January is no exception. We are very enthusiastic about getting to know your various ICT and SDG activities and hope to be hearing more from you through our ongoing Open Calls. Following our successful 2020 Forum, our numerous collaborations and partnerships with our WSIS stakeholders, and through the impactful contributions made by many of you, we anticipate another wonderful WSIS Forum!
 
We are eager to share a few updates and news with you in this edition of the WSIS Flash. Thank you for your continuous support, for making the world a better place through the use of ICTs and by sharing WSIS values in your communities.

 
The WSIS Forum 2021 is already starting with a series of pre-events in January and will culminate with the final week from the 17th to 21st of May.
 
  ⇒  The first workshop of the year will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 26th of January, from 12:00-13:00 (CET) where our panelists will present an innovative web application that has developed a Free Open-Source Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Technology – to attend the session please register here!

We also take this opportunity to reiterate the Open Calls for Action for the WSIS Forum 2021 and their respective deadlines:
 
  ⇒  The deadline for the Open Consultation Process (OCP) is on the 8th of March 2021
 
This process actively engages stakeholders to ensure a participatory and inclusive spirit of the Forum. By submitting the form, you can request workshops, an exhibition space, propose speakers and provide inputs on the format and themes of the WSIS Forum 2021.

WSIS Fund in Trust
 
We cordially invite all of you who would like to support WSIS Forum 2021 to make voluntary contributions to the special trust fund to support activities relating to the implementation of the WSIS outcomes. WSIS Forum is an extrabudgetary, inclusive, crowdsourced, free-of-charge platform where stakeholders from all regions and all levels of representation, from grassroot, to governments, corporations, non-governmental organizations and academia, are having a unique opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, discuss and shape the information society, making social, economic, and environmental impact on local, national, regional, and global levels.
