Mauritius e-Registry Project
MeRP
The MeRP was initiated by the Registrar-General’s Department (RGD), which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED), to implement an integrated system that allows clients to conduct business online with respect to registration of immovable property and movable property transactions. The main objectives of the MeRP were: ? To reduce time taken for registration of transaction ? To reduce number of visits at RGD ? To provide a better ambience to staff and customers. ? To eliminate usage of paper. ? To reduce complexity of registration processes. ? To provide online services.
