Our library programme the Support to Roma Population contributes to social inclusion, building tolerance and tearing down prejudice of Roma population, as well as supporting better quality life chances to Roma children through formal and informal ways of education, including online education, thus helping them to better integrate in the life of local community and society in general. There are two parts of our activities: for Roma children and youth as well as in-service training program that enables local professionals to network with the Roma associations and local authorities. This project has started with the basic computer and information literacy training for all library users, including groups of Roma elementary school students and Roma young adults without elementary school attending local Open university. The training has been organizing and implemented by our reference librarians in partnership with the county Roma people association “Step by step” and the local Open university. Library’s and the Open University’s premises and PC-s have been used. The topics of basic computer and information literacy training are: introduction in using computer programmes, emailing, Internet retrieving, introduction in library catalogues and online library services.
