Description *
Information Security Management System (ISMS), referring to compliance with the ISO/IEC27001:2013 standard requirements, is a systematic approach to protect information assets of organisations. ISMS implementation provides good impression to stakeholders and users that the information stored, processed or provided is protected from threats and misuse. Compliance with ISMS also reduces risks while ensuring the continuity of services. As the lead agency for digital transformation, the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) is promoting 700 public sector agencies to implement ISMS in order to face the ever-changing and evolving information security threats. The challenges in ISMS implementation include meeting all the requirements for certification; obtaining continuous support from the top management; reliance on third parties or consultants to assist the implementation of specific provisions; or on behalf of the government, to monitor the status of ISMS implementation in public sector agencies. MyISMS is a web-based application that provides step-by-step guidance on the implementation of ISMS to ensure that agencies are prepared for ISO/IEC27001:2013 certification. The application has a complete guidance including tutorials, checklist of ISMS requirements, downloadable document templates as well as a dedicated forum for community discussion. MyISMS can be accessed via public internet including mobile devices.
