Knowledge Building toward Indonesian Digital Society
The tale of the digital society in Indonesia is a fascinating object of study. While having an enormous potential, yet the narrative of digital society in Indonesia is still barely efficiently developed. Then, a research institution named Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is aiming to fill the hole by providing a continuous research and programme effort at building knowledge and provide educational material to actualise the idea of a digital society in Indonesia. CfDS pledge to delve into the study of digital society through three fields; digital diplomacy, digital governance and digital literacy. Until this point, the project has provided a substantial contribution to the stakeholder and the society in Indonesia both in a practical and normative field. The impacts of this project are an essential contribution to foster the implementation of, at least, four points of sustainable development goals. Our research products have provided the society with a new and updated education material to understand the phenomenon of digital society. (SDGs goal 4). We are trying to address the inequality problem by empowering and supporting the Indonesian society to have high awareness and understanding of digital technology (SDGs goal 10). CfDS is actively advocating the importance of digital technology as a medium of inclusive political and social participation (SDGs goal 16).
