iSDG - Integrated Sustainable Development Goals Policy Simulation Tool
Description *
The iSDG® is an interactive policy simulation tool that tracks interactions among the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators to measure progress towards the SDGs. It is the only ICT innovation designed specifically to help policymakers and others concerned with achieving the SDGs to understand its inherent complexity and to design efficient pathways to meet the Goals. Its structure maps the linkages among the SDGs indicators and targets, and it facilitates simulation of a broad variety of policies simultaneously, and produces on-the-spot simulation results for each of the SDGs and their indicators. This helps users to overcome the inefficiencies of sectoral or “silo” planning. Customized with a country’s data, iSDG generates country-specific development scenarios to show the implications of socio-economic-environmental policy on achieving the SDGs. Used in facilitated workshops with representatives of stakeholder groups responsible SDGs strategy development, stakeholders are able to collaboratively identify synergies, trade-offs, and high-impact intervention points of every policy option. This promotes policy coherence across the 17 SDGs, and identification of cost-efficient, sustainable solutions.
