Digital Transformation of the Lebanese Telecom Sector
The Lebanese Government initiated the process of transforming Lebanon into a digital nation. Huge Projects are implemented by OGERO Telecom based on our strategic planning. In order to enhance the telecom sector, we decided to start with enhancing the core (transport network) therefore connecting the different Central offices and migration from TDM to IMS. We also upgraded submarine cables to enhance International connectivity. In parallel, OGERO is implementing Fiber access to the users (FTTC, FTTH, FTTO,FTTW for wireless local loop areas, and FTTW WiFi hotspots). OGERO is becoming enabler for IoT services and Service Facilitator by helping new Startups to build and test their services by using our test bed and ICT infrastructure.We are also establishing our Data center and our cloud. OGERO is going green by using Solar panels and wind turbines. A new Billing and CRM system is implemented to enhance customers' satisfaction. In addition, the Ministry of Telecoms launched the Lebanese IGF initiative in which OGERO is handling Secretariat activities.
