Information about the project
Post Stroke Rehabilitation System Using Virtual Reality Technology
PSRUVRT
This project describes the development of virtual reality (VR) application for post-stroke rehabilitation purpose. The rehabilitation training involves motor and balance rehabilitation. Two applications have been developed in this project to serve motor dysfunction and balance impairment. The VR headset enables an individual to expose the three dimensional virtual environment. Then, the immersive virtual reality is capable to offer mirror therapy in post-stroke rehabilitation and thus aids in recovery. With the integration of leap motion sensor and kinect sensor, the individual can interact with the virtual world. This invention employes virtual reality for in-home physical therapy training.
