ITU Joins Forces to Offer Multimedia Directory Workshop
Event aims to bring videoconferencing and VoIP to the masses
Geneva, 26 February 2004
What: |
Workshop on ITU-T H.350 (Directory services for multimedia
networks) |
When: |
24-25 March 2004 |
Where: |
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus,
Indianapolis, USA |
Why: |
Consider how useful it is that telephone numbers and e-mail
addresses are increasingly listed together in a user’s on-line directory entry,
shouldn’t videoconferencing and VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) connection
information be located in these same directories? With the new ITU standard, this
will now be possible.
ITU-T H.350 gives ICT managers the ability to manage large numbers
of videoconferencing and VoIP users by standardizing the way systems store contact
details. The standard simplifies user configuration and provisioning of services
making videoconferencing and VoIP available to more people. This workshop aims to
educate systems developers and users on the benefits of implementing the new
standard. |
Who: |
Developers of multimedia communications products (e.g. VoIP and
IP-videoconferencing gatekeepers, IP-PBXs, softswitches, etc.), network service
providers, systems integrators and ICT managers. |
