PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

2002 - 2005 Director of engineering and planning, in charge of international relations with ITU and pan-Arab organizations with the ministry of the economy and telecommunication; subsequently with the ministry of the economy and of economic affairs (PT&IT department).
2002 - 2006 Elected member of RRB for the Africa Region at PP-02
2002 - 2006 Seat on the ITU Council for Morocco
2002 - 2005 As the Moroccan coordinator for both phases of WSIS, he took part very actively in the summit preparation process at the African, Arab and international level.
1998 - 2002 Ingénieur Général, responsible for information technology within the State Secretariat for Posts and Telecommunication and Information Technologies. National coordinator for the preparations for PP-02 (Marrakesh), with a commendation from the Secretary-General of ITU.

  • Member of the technical board for the Arabsat project at the initial design stage

  • Active member of several interministerial commissions responsible for structural reforms of Morocco's telecommunication sector

  • Active member of the Moroccan delegation to various ITU conferences, meetings and Council sessions as from the 1979 WARC, head of the delegation to WRC-2000 and WTDC 02, and member of the editorial committee on behalf of the Arab Group

  • Participation in several meetings of Intelsat, Arabsat, ATU, PATU and UMA and elected several times to the posts of chairman and vice-chairman

  • National coordinator for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (Marrakesh, 2002) and chairman of the Arab Group

  • Councillor for Morocco 2002-2006

  • Member of the national commission for utilization of the Galileo system in Morocco

  • National coordinator for both phases of the World Summit on the Information Society process
