ITU-T Recommendation H.248.64 has in scope H.248 media gateways with connection models using IP-based H.248 Streams/Terminations only. The different modes of IP packet forwarding (in the H.248 bearer path) are described. This Recommendation is further defining an H.248 package for discriminating such modes and protocol elements for the so-called IP router forwarding method.
