Summary

This Recommendation specifies the default mechanisms for user-plane OAM (Operations, Administration and Maintenance) in MPLS-TP newtorks. It also specifies the MPLS-TP OAM packet formats, syntax and semantics of MPLS-TP OAM packet fields. The OAM mechanisms defined in this Recommendation assume common forwarding of the MPLS-TP user packets and MPLS-TP OAM packets. This Recommendation is compliant with the transport profile of MPLS as defined by the IETF.

Observation

The original draft of G.8113.2/Y.1372.2 was Consented on 16 September, but Approval was rejected at SG15 meeting on 16 December 2011. G.8113.2/Y.1372.2 was moved to TAP but not yet Determined on 16 December 2011.
