This year the theme in Suriname was, Expanding horizons for Mom and Me. We had invited 75 mothers working in school libraries to spend the day with their daughter. Minister Andojo Rusland responsible for the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Tourism addressed the attending participants and wished them a fun filled day. At the training facility we had a whole program for them. Mother and daughter got a chance to meet and speak with role models, got a sneak peak  of how robotics work, how a 3D printer works, got to assemble a pc. There was also time for some virtual gaming. We had a contest where mother and daughter competed against each other in a game called my mom is the best. From the regulator they got a demonstration on how their monitoring vehicle works. An NGO active in the sector also shared the dangers that the use of the internet can have on their daughters and what they should do to be alert and guide them.

All in all it was a very rewarding day for these mothers who will use this experience to teach their pupils the possibilities that ICT can mean to them.
