Bongani is a BA Politics and International Relations graduate from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He was a 2019 participant of the UJ Young Leadership Development Programme, earning him a certificate in Organisational Leadership; he is also the former Under-Secretary for outreach programs in one of the societies at the university, namely UNASA (United Nations Association of South Africa). Bongani's passion for environmental and gender issues has led him to becoming a member of the Youth Policy Committee, under Youth@SAIIA (South African Institute of International Affairs). He is also UNICEF Africa Generation Unlimited youth reporter. Bongani has certificates in Artificial intelligence, Sustainable Development, as well as African Insights. As part of his volunteering experiences, as well as his passion for digital inclusion, he has produced and directed a series of short films working with GSMA and UNICEF. He was also a speaker at the MWC Barcelona 2020, as well as the Internet Governance Forum, child safety online. Lastly, he is the co-founder of an NPO called 'The Council – South Africa'. |
