H.E. Akilah Byron-Nisbett

Minister of Health, ICT, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship, and Talent Development, Ministry of Health, St. Kitts and Nevis

The Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett is the Minister with responsibility for Health, ICT, Entrepreneurship, Entertainment and Talent Development in the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis. Her passion is to see St. Kitts and Nevis become the lead Caribbean Island for Digital Transformation and the development of a Digital Economy. She believes that to get there it would be important to create an environment that allows individuals, especially young people, to be creative and innovative. Through the Ministries of ICT, Entrepreneurship, Entertainment and Talent Development, she is working to lay the groundwork which will create opportunities for young creatives and innovators to develop that next big idea that would contribute to advancing the digital economy agenda, and creating a digital culture required for true transformation. Before entering politics, Minister Byron-Nisbett was a Systems Analyst/Programmer at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and was part of a team that saw the successful implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system within the Bank.
