International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized the ITU ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams), a five-day regional forum on cybersecurity for the Africa Region. The first day was dedicated to a series of workshops on current cybersecurity issues, followed by two days of cyber drill exercises structured around various scenarios involving the most common types of cyberattacks while the sharing sessions provides a platform for cooperation and discussions on cybersecurity and the last two days were dedicated to capacity building session.

In addition in the second day we had a high level awareness session about threats of cyberattack dedicated for the managers where we demonstrated a Live Cybersecurity Incident Simulation which will enable the managers to go through a simulation and assess in a very tangible way potential threats with regard to Cyber Attacks.

The event took place from 4- 8th April 2016 in Mauritius, Hotel Le Meridien, at the kind invitation of Mauritius National Computer Board (NCB).
In line with the collaboration between ITU and FIRST, FIRST was pleased to support applications for FIRST membership from participants of ITU cyber drill exercises.
