Cyberdrill for Arab region, 23-27 May 2016, Tunisia

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​LAS_3604.JPGInternational Telecommunication Union (ITU) and ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) organized the fourth edition of the regional Cyberdrill ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams) for the Arab regio​n. The cyberdrill exposes participants from the national Computer Emergency​ Response Teams (CERTs) to various scenarios based on case studies and real-life situations, which provides them with an opportunity to test and improve their skills and knowledge in responding to such attacks.

​​​The event took place from 23rd to 27th May 2016 in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia, at the kind invitation of the National Agency for Computer Security (NACS), Tunisia.

Purpose

​The exercise aimed to enhance readiness and capabilities of region's ​national ​CERTs to better respond to cyber threats as well as to strengthen regional ​networking, communication, and cooperation procedures for a successful and continuous collaboration. With this in mind, the drill is structured around various scenarios involving the most common types of cyber-attacks whilst the workshop provides a platform for cooperation, information sharing, and discussions on cybersecurity.​​​
