The Toolkit Validation Workshop on E-waste Policy in Africa will take place on
4 March 2021, from 09:30 to 12:00 (CET). The report is part of a project supported by the
World Economic Forum with the aim to provide countries in Africa with a toolkit and guide, underpinning the system requirements for the end-of-life management of electrical and electronic equipment in a circular economy. From a very pragmatic perspective in the expanded toolkit, a special emphasis will be placed on the building blocks required to establish a fair and economically viable system of extended producer responsibility for both the public and the private sector.
The overall objective of this online workshop is to collect feedback on the draft Toolkit from stakeholders.
Participants will include policymakers, recyclers, original equipment manufacturers, service providers and associations and other experts. The workshop is a closed event and by invitation only.
The main outcome of the workshop will be the incorporation of feedback received into the toolkit to ensure it is strengthened from a stakeholder perspective.
