12th Subregional Cyberdrill - Chile 2023

ABOUT THE EVENT

The ITU Cyber drill is an event of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D). The purpose of the Cyberdrill is to enhance the communication and incident response capabilities of the participating teams as well as to ensure a continued collective effort in mitigating cyber threats among the region's national Computer Incident Response Teams.

The Cyberdrill exercise is structured around various scenarios involving the most common types of cyberattacks while the sharing sessions, and provides a platform for cooperation and discussions on cybersecurity.

The 12th Cyberdrill - Chile 2023 took place from 25 to 28 September 2023 at the ​kind invitation of  the Ministerio del Interior, SUBTEL, and Universidad Santiago de Chile, who was the host.

PURPOSE

The event offered a space for analysis and discussion about national needs, actions, and initiatives, plus capacity building through cyber incident simulation labs towards the protection of national critical infrastructures, and the cybersecurity of the region, among other important national critical aspects.

​The event was meant for governments, institutions, and/or national CIRTs/CERTs to participate with technicians on cybersecurity and representatives at the manager level.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The event was open to CERTs of the Region's Member States, decision takers about cybersecurity from the administrations, Staff of telecommunication administrations, regulatory authorities, regional organizations, sector members and special guests from Americas' region: Argentina, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bolivia (Plurinational State of), Brazil, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba, Belize, Dominican Rep., Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Grenada, Haiti, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Peru, Paraguay, Panama, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
