The ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ARCC) in Oman, in collaboration with the ITU Arab Regional Office (ARO), organized the Regional Cybersecurity Week for the Arab Region, which was held from 21st - 25th October 2018 in Kuwait, kindly hosted by the Communication & Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) of Kuwait.
This week events included:
- The 7th Regional Cybersecurity Summit to be held from 21st to 22nd October 2018 under the theme “Cybersecurity Readiness in the Fourth Industrial Revoluation” that aims to address the best preventive strategies to counteract cyber threats. - The 6th Regional Cyber Drill ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams) sixth edition for Arab Region from 23rd to 25th October 2018. The drill seeks to enhance communication and capacity building and boost emergency readiness and response to cyber threats and/or attacks through the Arab CERTs. Countries that have their own national CIRTs are invited to participate with a team of three to four technical members in addition to one management member or a decision maker as an observer (optional), while countries that have not yet completed the establishment of their National CIRT can participate as an observer (1 to 3 observers). - The ITU Arab Study Group 17 (SG17RG-ARB) Second Meeting to be held on Thursday 25th October 2018. The meeting of the regional group will be mainly attended by delegates and representatives from Member States, Sector Members and Associates to Study Group 17 in the region. - The 6th Consultative Meeting for the Heads of Arab Cybersecurity Centers (CERTs) or their representatives to explore areas of cooperation in cybersecurity field in the Arab Region, scheduled to be held on 22nd October 2018, at 15:00 pm, in parallel with the 7th Regional Cybersecurity Summit
