Subregional Workshop on Digital Skills Development in the Pacific

​​21-23 November 2018, Nadi, Fiji

The ITU-PITA Sub-Regional Workshop on “Digital skills development in the Pacific" (21-23 November 2018) held at Hotel Tanoa International, Nadi, Fiji.The event co-organized by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) with the support of the Department of Communications and the Arts, Government of Australia.

The workshop aimed: 
- ​to build capacity on digital skills strategy development at national and enterprise level; 
- to share information amongst Pacific Islands countries on the current practices in terms of digital skills development, challenges and possible solutions; and 
- to identify the digital skills training requirements and resources in the Pacific.​

ITU provided one full fellowship to one participant duly authorized by the respective ITU Administrations from the Pacific Islands countries, subject to available budget and with preference to Least Developed Countries, to facilitate their participation in the workshop.  ​​

The workshop held at the same venue as the ESCAP-ITU-PITA Subregional workshop on implementation of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Pacific island countries
