The Capacity Building Workshop on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) indicators took place on 13-16 May 2013 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The workshop was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), with the support of the Dirección Nacional de Telecomunicaciones y Servicios de Comunicación Audiovisual (DINATEL), Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay.
The workshop was addressed to those responsible for collecting or producing national statistics and indicators on telecommunications and ICTs in ministries, regulatory agencies and national statistical offices in Latin Amercian countries; and aimed at strengthen their capacities to produce such statistics.
The workshop included the following topics: overview of work on ICT measurement; training on telecommunication infrastructure indicators; training on ICT statistics in household and business surveys; ITU data collection/questionnaires; ITU manual and handbook; national coordination to produce ICT statistics; and training on indicators to measure the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) targets.
The workshop was conducted in Spanish.
