Ministerial Roundtable: stimulating public-private collaboration on connectivity
At ITU Telecom World 2019, I chaired the third Ministerial Roundtable where we explored emerging models for public private collaborations and multi-sector partnerships. I highlighted the need to adapt a new mantra: cross-sectoral collaboration if we are to make real headway in overcoming some of the major impediments to the realization of our goal of internet for all. By cross-sectoral collaboration, I mean innovative partnerships between the public and private sectors and stakeholders across the digital ecosystem such as NGOs, international organizations, civic groups, communities and academia. I also mean a more holistic, Whole of Government approach by national policy-makers. Together we can build a digital ecosystem that accommodates and benefits everyone.
