Contact: tsbworkshops@itu.intDuring the last 2 years IMT2020/5G has gained significant attention in the telecommunication sector. Currently academia, operators, vendors as well as regulatory bodies are trying to identify the framework and requirements for the 5G network architecture and services within several SDO's, alliances and consortia. These activities also include the definition of 5G functional architecture, FMC and softwarization aspects. Furthermore demos and trail systems for the proof of concept have been and still will be implemented. This workshop intends to offer a platform for all involved stakeholders and aims to:
- Give an overview of SG13 standardization work and future plan on IMT-2020 wireline as well as the work and plan of other ITU-T study groups on this topic;
- Present the achievements and current activities of the industry (operators, vendors, …) on IMT 2020;
- Discuss current technical issues and future plans of ITU-T members and other SDOs in relation with IMT-2020 infrastructures, applications and services;
- Demonstrate the IMT-2020 related prototype through a Demo show session.
This one-day technical event is open to experts participating in the IMT-2020 work of ITU and all other parties interested in networking technologies shaping future 5G systems.
