T.W. Fens holds a position as senior research fellow at Technical University Delft, Faculty Technology, Policy & management,
section Economics of Technology. He researches the development of energy markets in the context of institutional arrangements, technology developments within the framework of the energy transition towards renewables and decentrals. His research encompasses all actors in the energy value chain including policy and regulation. The background of T.W. Fens is electrical engineering and physics and he holds a PhD in experimental physics. In addition, T.W. Fens is a seasoned experienced professional with a broad industrial background. His working experience encompasses more than 40 years in the industry (process control, telecom, oil and gas engineering) and consultancy (energy markets and IT).
