Digital He@lth Initiative (DHI)

Dr Hamadoun Touré, ITU Secretary-General hosted the second meeting of the Advisory Board of the Digital He@lth Initiative (DHI) on 29 and 30 March at ITU.

The meeting reviewed progress made since the initiative was announced in September 2009 and agreed on deliverables for the upcoming MDG 2010 Summit.  This included a 10-point Action Plan focused on ICT projects aimed at improving maternal health and child  protection.    

The Digital He@lth Initiative is a unique multistakeholder collaboration between the ICT and healthcare sectors to implement the Millennium Development Goals. The board is co-chaired by Dr Touré and Dr Klaus M. Leisinger, President and CEO of the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development.
