Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI)

The 11th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) took place virtually, on 15-16 September 2020. The meeting is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The EGTI meeting took place back-to-back with the 8th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH)​, which also took place virtually, on 17 September 2020. Joint EGTI-EGH sessions were held on 14,18 and 29 September 2020.

EGTI meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection. 

The objective of the 11th EGTI meeting was to examine the contributions received from members of the EGTI online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items under discussion. The outcome of the discussions will be presented at the 17th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS).

The topics that were discussed during the EGTI meeting included indicators of 5G, ICT prices, quality of service and international roaming. Furthermore, the revised ITU Handbook for the Collection of Administrative Data on Telecommunications/ICT was form​​ally launched​.
