The 8th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) took place virtually, on 17 September 2020. The meeting is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The EGH meeting was held back-to-back with the 11th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI), which also took place virtually, on 15-16 September 2020. Joint EGTI-EGH sessions were held on 14, 18 and 29 September 2020.

The meeting examined the contributions received from members of the EGH online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items that were under discussion. The outcome of the discussions will be presented at the 17th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS).

The topics covered during the EGH meeting included the measurement of ICT skills, and how to measure the number of Internet users accurately. The revised ITU Manual for Measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals was formally launched.

EGH meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection.
