Dear WSIS Stakeholders,

The WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event, co-organized with UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD and co-hosted by ITU and the Swiss Confederation, will serve as a platform to review the progress, achievements, challenges, and opportunities of the WSIS follow-up process since the two phases of the Summit – Geneva in 2003 and Tunis in 2005. The WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event and is scheduled from 27-31 May 2024, in Geneva Switzerland. Registration will soon open, we strongly encourage you to book your accommodation as soon as possible.

Second Physical Meeting of the WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event ​Open Consultation Process​

In preparation for the WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event, the Open Consultation Process (OCP) invites all WSIS stakeholders to engage in a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue. This process is crucial for shaping the event’s agenda, pinpointing areas where the Geneva Plan of Action and WSIS Action Lines require further attention, and contributing to the overall WSIS+20 review. Stakeholders are welcome to provide their input using the designated submission form.

The OCP’s Second Meeting, will take place today, Wednesday, 13 December 2023, from 14:00 to 15:00 (CET/UTC+1) in Room L at the ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. For those unable to attend in person, remote participation options will be available

WSIS Prizes 2024

The WSIS Prizes competition emerged as a solution to the WSIS community’s call for a robust system to assess initiatives that utilise ICTs for promoting sustainable development. In 2024, the WSIS Prizes will continue to honour exemplary achievements globally that contribute to fostering an inclusive information society. Stakeholders involved in WSIS are invited to present their ICT-related projects and initiatives for this yearly competition by the deadline of 31 January 2024.

WSIS Forum Photo Contest 2024

The annual WSIS Photo Contest calls for submissions of photographs that illustrate the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Open to all, the contest welcomes images depicting projects, individuals, and organizations that harness ICTs for positive change. The top three photographs will be recognised and showcased at the WSIS+20 Forum High-Level Event. Submissions must be made by the 31 January 2024 deadline.
