The workshop on Rethinking Public Services: Strategies for Achieving Digital Transformation Goals, organized as a side event to the WSIS 2023, was held in Geneva, on the 13 March 2023 from 10:00 - 12:00 UCT+1. This event was organized by the ITU Office for Europe within the framework of the ITU Regional Initiative for Europe on a digital transformation for resilience.
The WSIS Forum is a platform for exchanging information and best practices, identifying emerging trends, and fostering partnerships, with a focus on the evolving Information and Knowledge Societies. This workshop complemented these discussions by showcasing the wealth of knowledge European candidate and potential candidate countries have to offer and ensured a constructive dialogue between key stakeholders involved in the digital transformation.
Participants had the opportunity to address current constraints, share lessons learned, and explore ways to leverage opportunities, to inspire countries to follow the example of regional leaders who are taking bold action to build more effective and cost-efficient digital government services.
The workshop offered practical insights into the front-end, back-end, and infrastructure aspects of public services. By encouraging collaborative dialogue, participants developed a comprehensive understanding of the various components involved in delivering exceptional public services that cater to citizens' diverse needs and preferences. This encouraged key stakeholders to take bold action in creating a truly omnichannel, fully digital, and personalized experience.
