​Witness the presentation of the 2015 IDI Award

During WTIS-15, ITU will launch the ICT Development Index (IDI) and present the ICT Development Index (IDI) Award. The IDI is a global benchmarking tool and the IDI 2015 captures the level of ICT developments in 167 economies worldwide and compares progress made since the year 2010.

The IDI is launched as part of the Measuring the Information Society Report 2015, which will also assesse IDI findings at the regional level and highlight countries that have improved their position in the overall IDI rankings most dynamically since 2010. The Report, which has been published annually since 2009, will also show the results of the ICT Price Basket (IPB) and present and analyse fixed- and mobile-broadband price data for around 180 economies. It also includes a review and quantitative assessment of the global ITU goals and targets agreed upon at the 2014 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference and included in the Connect 2020 Agenda, and a chapter looking into recent developments, opportunities and challenges of the Internet of Things (IoT).
