This Recommendation develops techniques for the protection of identifiers as related to user data in distributed identity systems. This document focuses on the following:
o analysis of a few relevant currently deployed solutions, supported use cases and risks related to exposing identity and user data,
o methods and techniques for identifier unlinkability and de-anonymization inference attacks,
o guidelines and best practices to mitigate the identified risks.
