E-commerce and E-employment:
Tigarti
Session 226
This session is a panel discussion exploring the ways in which the benefits of technology (mainly e-commerce and e-employment) be used to shrink its negative implications. More broadly, what are ways in which technological advancements can be used to solve international development issues?
This panel will focus on how the eCommerce industry and the associated ecosystem is, directly and indirectly, impacting the employment landscape worldwide. The panel also highlights the benefits of these employment opportunities leading to a wider socio-economic development impact, evolution of alternate employment models, skill redefinition, and developing a symbiotic relationship with leading government initiatives.
Below are examples of the questions discussed in the panel:
· Will the digital revolution fast track international development issues? If so, how?
· How can e-commerce companies efficiently monitor their vendors? If strict regulations were placed, will monitoring vendors decrease illicit or harmful practices?
· How does the digital revolution relate to e-commerce and e-employment? Since many jobs are projected to be replaced by automation and technology, what will this mean for the youth and unemployment rates?
