Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

Session 259

12:00–13:00 CEST (UTC+02:00), Tuesday, 7 July 2020 Thematic Workshop

WSIS Action Line C5 (BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND SECURITY IN THE USE OF ICTs)

Building trust in new technologies, and encouraging their use is a priority set out by the ITU and is critical in ensuring everybody across the world enjoys the benefits of ICT. Standardization also has a key role to play; interoperability of new security products and services needs to be built-in from the earliest design stages. Collaboration and cooperation among all stakeholders is key to strengthening confidence and security in the use of ICT, and will be a central focus during the workshop.

The workshop will cover a wide range of the issues:

·       What is confidence? How do we enable confidence and security?

·       Can we create a ‘confidence framework’?

·       How can we apply this kind of framework across multiple industries?

·       What are the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in building confidence and security?

·       What progress have the ITU and other standards organization made in building confidence and security?

If you would like to join us, please register via this link: https://www.itu.int/net4/wsis/forum/2020/Agenda/Session/259.
