The world has entered a new phase of the digital transformation amid a global pandemic, making the need for Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) at the national and global level has now become more necessary than ever.  

Strengthening linkages and alignment of the WSIS Action Lines with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is pivotal as a framework to accelerate transformation to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  

This roundtable aims to bring together high-level officials to discuss and address the challenges to bring ICTs to everyone during and after the crisis, in enabling the transformation towards inclusive, resilient and sustainable societies and economies. It seeks to build synergies and foster global cooperation to leverage the power of technology for realising the SDGs.

H.E. Indra Mani Pandey

Ambassador Indra Mani Pandey is a career diplomat. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1990.
 
Ambassador Pandey joined as Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva in September 2020.  Before his current assignment, he served as Additional Secretary in Ministry of    External Affairs in-charge of the Disarmament & International Security Affairs Division.
 
Earlier, Ambassador Pandey had served as Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman. Before Muscat, he had served as Deputy Ambassador of India to France and Consul General of India at Guangzhou in China.
 
Ambassador Pandey has also served in various capacities at Indian Missions in Cairo (Egypt), Damascus (Syria), Islamabad (Pakistan), Kabul (Afghanistan) and Permanent Mission of India to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva (Switzerland).
 
During his earlier stints at the Headquarters in New Delhi, Ambassador Pandey had handled assignments in West Asia North Africa Division; Consular, Passport and Visa Division; Counter Terrorism Cell; Americas Division; Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Myanmar (BSM) Division.
 
During 1998-99, Ambassador Pandey attended Foreign Service Programme at Oxford University. In 2009, he attended the 49th Course on National Security and Strategy, conducted by National Defence College of India.
 
He is married to Mrs. Sushma Pandey and they have a daughter, Devangi.


H.E. Ms. Grata E. Werdaningtyas
H.E. Ms. Grata E. Werdaningtyas Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the UN, WTO & other International Organizations

Grata Endah Werdaningtyas has been assigned as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia in Geneva in September 2020 and since December 2020 she is also acting as the Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim.

Prior to this assignment, she served as the Director for International Security and Disarmament at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As the Deputy Permanent Representative, she supports the Permanent Representative in overviewing all policy matters related to Indonesia’s cooperation with various multilateral organizations in Geneva, among others on the issues of disarmament, intellectual property, labour, human rights and humanitarian.

Ms. Werdaningtyas joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997 as a career diplomat.


H.E. Mrs. Usha Chandnee Dwarka-Canabady
H.E. Mrs. Usha Chandnee Dwarka-Canabady Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Mission of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva

Ambassador Usha Chandnee Dwarka-Canabady is currently the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva. Prior to this appointment, Ambassador Dwarka-Canabady was, since November 2015, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Mauritius, after having been acting Secretary for Foreign Affairs between April 2013 and October 2015. She was also Head of the Multilateral Economic Directorate (January 2007 to March 2013) and Head of the Multilateral Political Department (May 2006 to January 2007) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Regional Integration in Port-Louis, Mauritius.

A career diplomat, she was the High Commissioner of Mauritius in India from August 2004 to May 2006, Head of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between October 2003 and August 2004. She was also coordinator of the World Summit of the Information Society at the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva from January to August 2003 after having been Deputy Permanent Representative of Mauritius to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva between July 1996 and June 2002.

Mrs Dwarka-Canabady has a BA in Psychology, Sociology and English from the University of Leicester, an MA in International Politics from the University Libre of Brussels, and a Diplomatic Studies Program Certificate from the Graduate Institute International Studies in Geneva.
Mrs. Dwarka-Canabady was born February 2, 1960 in Mauritius, she is married and mother of two children.


H.E. Mr. Mxolisi NKOSI
H.E. Mr. Mxolisi NKOSI Ambassador and Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United Nations in Geneva and Other International Organisations in Switzerland Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland

Mxolisi Nkosi (Born 26 June 1967, Soweto, South Africa) is the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United Nations in Geneva and Other International Organisations in Switzerland. He has served in several senior positions in the Foreign Ministryof post-Apartheid South Africa. Between February 2012 and March 2016 was the South African Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Head of Mission to the European Union. Until his appointment as South Africa’s Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, he was the Head of Global Governance and Continental Agenda in the South African Foreign Ministry, and President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Sherpa to G7 Outreach Sessions.

Ambassador Mxolisi Nkosi
An expert in the field of international relations and diplomacy, Nkosi previously headed Africa Branch in the Foreign Ministry. He has travelled extensively throughout the world and in Africa, and accompanied high-level delegations of former President Thabo Mbeki, President Jacob Zuma, former Foreign Ministers Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, and now President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister Naledi Pandor.
