The objective of this session around Action line 8 is to identify what progress has been made by the different stakeholders, such as international organizations, governments, civil society, and the private sector. 

The following themes will be discussed:

-  Which actions have been undertaken to progress in Action Line 8? Which actions can be considered good practices?

-  What (future) do you see in furthering Action Line 8? 

-  Which emerging trends in relation  should be addressed in WSIS+20?

The session will start off with a short presentation by UNESCO regarding Action Line 8. Due attention will be given to UNESCO’s normative frameworks and recent steps undertaken by UNESCO, that aim to further the protection and promotion of cultural diversity in the Information Society.
