Public Engagement

A public engagement on the topic of robotics in health care. The Medical Internet of Things MIoT will bring advanced technological devices into the home. Hospital @ home care is here. Robotics are being used in hospitals, rehabilitation and research centers.  What are the benefits and risks for users such as caregivers and patients? What ethical matters should be considered? 


Amali De Silva-Mitchell

Amali is a professional Accountant (CPA, CMA BC Canada & MSc. Int. Accounting & Finance LSE UK), Economist (BSc.(Hons) Warwick UK). She has a background in computer science from Imperial College UK and has worked within internet and technology industries, government and non-profit IT sectors for several years. She was President of the Vancouver Community Network (ISP), a Director of Freedom of Information and Privacy BC and UNA Victoria BC and has participated with UN ITU WSIS since prep Com 1. She founded the WSIS North American Civil Society Caucus. Amali founded the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN DESA) recognized Dynamic Coalition for Data Driven Health Technologies in 2019.

As a Wikipedia Volunteer Editor, by writing the Culture Portal in French, I first became interested in scientific and educational subjects.

I have also worked in drug abuse prevention, supporting the legalization of cannabis with the CSF and ASUD association.

I am a party member of Europe Ecologie Les Verts and involved in my city near Paris.

I am a student in automation and robotics at the Master level in the CNAM Paris and I was in an internship at the French Ministry of Research.

I am usually an attendee of the UN DESA Global Policy Dialogue Series and also a participant of the UN IGF, member of the DC DDHT and a partner of the UN ITU AI for Good Neural Network.


Dr Galia Kondova
Dr Galia Kondova(Remote/Onsite) UN IGF DC DDHT - Bulgaria

Dr Kondova is currently a Lecturer in Economics at the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland of School of Business. She has a special focus of interest in emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, and has written papers, articles and presented and moderated sessions in these subject areas. She has also been a Research Analyst and Project Coordinator at the World Bank in Sofia and Washington DC and held internship positions at the European Parliament and the European Commission in Brussels.  


Dr Joao Rocha Gomes

Dr Gomes is a medical doctor MD working at Ada Health Medical (Germany) as a Medical Product Engineer. He is also working on a MSc in Health Care Economics and Management (Portugal). He is deeply interested and actively engaged in MedTech, Public Health, Pharma R&D and European Policy. He is also the local representative for EIT Health Innovators Community in Porto, Portugal.

June Parris is experienced in business development and research, involved with startups, business support and voluntary work. Active on Environmental groups.

She has been involved in policy making and outcomes for the NHS Primary care. Experienced Nurse in Primary Care, Chronic disease management, General and Surgical care and Clinical Research and Management. Specialty in research Psychiatric Nursing with an interest in Dementia and incarceration. BSc Sociology, MSc Economics (Health Services Management and Policy).RGN, RMN. Has been involved in medical and social research for many years.


Dr Amado Espinosa

Dr Espinosa MD, MCS, MBA, Phd is a medical informatician dedicated to research, development and implementation of IT systems and their applications for improving the quality and performance of healthcare provider organizations in Latin America. He is Founder and CEO of Medisist, amongst other national and international achievements. He is a member of UN IGF DC DDHT and is a recent past member of the UN IGF MAG Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group. 


Yao Amevi Amessinou Sossou

I am a highly motivated and accomplished researcher with the Institute of International Management at FH JOANNEUM Graz.

As a committed community leader, I have contributed to the global conversation about the future of the internet, representing Benin as part of the WeTheInternet coalition led by Missions Publiques. My focus is on leveraging my expertise in entrepreneurship and internationalization to engage young people in internet governance and policymaking.

Additionally, I am an ardent advocate for ordinary citizen participation in IGF, digital right & digital identity, and climate change initiatives, and I actively promote awareness and action on these critical issues.

I am a regular participant at UN IGF, a member of the DC DDHT, ISOC Benin, ISOC Burkina, and several internet society SIGs, including Gender Standing Group, Internet for Education SIG, Online Safety SIG. I am also a member of AfrICANN-discuss
