High-Level Dialogue
The session will bring together representatives from government, the private sector, international organisations and academic institutions, to discuss strategies to develop digital skills policies and frameworks that can effectively respond to the emerging digital needs and gaps in the labour market.
The high-level discussion will cover the following questions, to be finalised in coordination with the moderator based on the speakers’ profiles. Some questions may be combined where appropriate:
- Why do we need to talk about digital skills for digital transformation? How can emerging technologies help create decent employment opportunities?
- What key strategies are required to address the emerging digital needs and gaps in the labour market? What policies can governments put in place to address the digital skills needs
- What are the 3 main recommendations for policy makers to consider in developing digital skills strategies that address immediate needs and emerging technological skills gaps?
- How can we ensure digital skills development is inclusive and reaches vulnerable populations, including women, rural communities, persons with disabilities, and older workers who risk being left behind in the digital transformation?
