Every year, ITU and partners work together to inspire and encourage girls to pursue a future in ICTs, and bridge the gender digital divide. The aim is to encourage young women and girls to pursue their studies and careers in science, engineering, technology, mathematics (STEM) and help them achieve their dreams.
This year, the theme of Girls in ICT Day is ‘Leadership’. The
global Girls in ICT Day celebration held on 25 April 2024 at the FEU Tech Innovation Center, Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines in coordination and collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
To celebrate Girls in ICT in the Arab States, Four distinct events will be held in April and May 2024.

Brief: The Girls in ICT 2024 Celebrations in Lebanon took place on 29 April from 9:00 to 12:00 Beirut time at OGERO Premises in Beirut, Lebanon. The Event hosted by ITU in collaboration with OGERO and in coordination with the Network of Women (NoW) in ITU D intended to invite up to 31 secondary classes' girls from local schools for an open day at OGERO's Premises, where the girls had the opportunity to learn about OGERO's work by visiting the Technical Directorate, the Data Center, and the Supercomputer. Additionally, the girls also had the privilege of meeting and hearing from female leaders from OGERO and other institutions. This interaction aimed to provide insights into career paths, professional life, and the significance of ICTs, through discussions, inspirational talks, or round table discussions.

Brief: The Girls in ICT 2024 Celebrations in Egypt took place on 30 April from 10:30 to 14:00 Egypt time in Mansoura, Egypt. The event organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in collaboration with the ITU and Delta American Schools (DAS), held on the premises of DAS.
The event was intended to raise awareness and empower young girls to be models of digital citizenship and get inspired by powerful role models in the ICT field, where they can work harder on themselves to represent society in the future.
