WSIS+20: WSIS Review Process

WSIS Forum 2022 | 15 March – 3 June 2022

The WSIS Forum 2022 final week welcomed more than 1,000 physical participants, with more than 30,000 remote participants since 15 March. Information and communication technology (ICT) experts and implementation actors contributed to and participated in the recent World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2022 to foster partnerships, showcase innovation, exchange best practices and announce new tools and initiatives to use ICTs (WSIS Action Lines) to advance the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WSIS Forum 2021 | 26 January – 21 May 2021

Over the course of seventeen weeks (since January 2021), the WSIS Forum 2021 hosted more than 250 sessions, including workshops, live interviews, WSIS TalkX, the high-level track, Hackathon and many more. The WSIS Forum 2021 garnered a lot of interest and excitement worldwide – with a cumulative attendance of over 50,000 attendees (zoom room, zoom recording, Facebook Live videos, YouTube, and other format) over 185 countries from Government, Civil Society, Academia, Private Sector, the UN to exchange discourse on ICTs emerging issues to strengthen information and knowledge societies.

WSIS Forum 2020 | 22 June – 10 September 2020

After careful consideration and in light of the global health crisis and pervasive travel restrictions, the co-organisers decided to hold the WSIS Forum 2020 in a virtual format. The agenda and programme were spread over the summer months and culminated in the final week of the Forum running from 7 to 10 September. The Forum strived to create a meaningful virtual experience for WSIS stakeholders and to scale the event to reach a wider audience.

WSIS Forum 2019 | 8 – 12 April 2019

More than 3000 information and communication technology (ICT) experts and implementation actors contributed to and participated in the recent World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2019 to foster partnerships, showcase innovation, exchange best practices and announce new tools and initiatives to use ICTs to advance the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
