#2 – Agriculture is just a part of BoP financial lives

Financial diaries from Mozambique, Tanzania, and Pakistan show that agriculture is only part of the SHF financial
picture. In the tight value chain example (Pakistan), only 39 per cent of all income and expenses were from
agriculture. In the loose value chain example (Tanzania), the figure averages 29 per cent. In the non-commercial
example (Mozambique), the figure averages only seven per cent – agriculture cash flows from non-commercial
farmers are low since they grow primarily for consumption.
